Content in the Past

Not that many years ago, publishers were giving their brand assets away for free without knowing how the content is being used or the duration the content was being used. By giving away these assets, they were giving away the presumption that these assets had no value. Once publishers realized the potential revenue they were missing out on, they created awards programs, recognized brand’s products and monetized the content and assets.

Once brands realized the potential revenue they were missing out on, because of the recognition these publications were giving them; they bought the assets, developed asset budgets and used the assets to gain recognition from publications.

Types of assets that can be developed from awards received by recognition in publications content are; logos placed within billboards, broadcast TV, radio feeds, online media, promoted on apps, apparel, trophies, product packaging and anywhere the logo or asset can be promoted commercially.

Content licensing can result in incremental revenue.

Some publishing partners include; Men’s Health, Penton Media, Techlicious, Gawker Media, Hearst Corporation and Mashable.

Quick Tip: Raise brand equity by leveraging your branded assets.
